Shared Experience (Steeple 2015.07)
Those of you who saw my sermon in early June heard me mention that in 2013 it was noted that singers joined together can experience a synchronization of heartbeats. This was an amazing discovery for a team studying a Swedish choir. They reason that it due to the practice of shared breathing, which is also noted amongst those performing yoga together. As you begin your summer and consider what you might like to do this fall, why not consider adding choir to your life? Aside from these scientific discoveries, we all can uphold that making music together is good for well-being, happiness, and the soul.
